On January 22, 2011 The SAAD Reunions Committee met and established the date of December 2nd, 2011 for our next Holiday Luncheon. This event will be held at the Dante Club in Sacramento. The committee will meet again on August 27, 2011 to further refine the details of the Luncheon. September 24, 2011 marks the following committee meeting to send out in the U.S. Mail, our flyers and reservation forms for the Luncheon (approximately 225 letters). At the same time email messages, with links to reservation forms, will be sent out to those in our contacts for email (approximately 400 email contacts). November 12, 2011 will convene our wrap-up meeting for the Luncheon to finalize assignments and content. Please don't forget to keep us appraised of any changes to your home or email address! Changes can be submitted here. Thank you!

 

OUR MOST RECENT EVENT:

December 2nd, 2010 the Army Depot Reunions Committee hosted a Holiday Luncheon at the Dante Club at 2330 Fair Oaks Blvd in Sacramento, California. The Reunions Association honored Mr. Dean Gleisberg, a former depot employee and talented artist who painted the large murals in the lobby of the depot's Administration Building and also recently completed a "California Military History Mural".

FYI - Our last email notification went out to 364 recipients; of that 364, we received 23 rejects. Of the 23 rejects, 10 did not have a home address or phone contact number in our database (possibly lost contact forever). We are getting better but please don't be one of those with whom we lose contact for lack of an alternate contact source. Emailing is our least expensive means of communication. If you wouldn't mind giving us that information, please send us an email. Your privacy is important to us and will not be given out to anyone without your permission.

We had another great turnout on June 7th, 2008 at the Depot Park for our annual summer picnic. Please note: The SAAD Reunions committee has recently voted to temporarily suspend the annual picnic as we have all been somewhat overloaded with all that is involved in planning and bringing these annual events to fruition. In 2007 it was also held at what was once the Army Depot and is now known as the "Depot Park". The picnic was on June 9th, 2007, ran from 1000-1600 hrs, and was held just outside the old officer's club near the parade grounds. Check out the Depot Park at http://www.depotpark.com/welcome.php  More than 350 people attended with some coming from out of state to connect with old friends and co-workers.

 

     Supply Reunion Luncheon - Held quarterly at Home Town Buffet on Florin Road.  These are scheduled for the 1st Wednesday of February, May, August, and November.  ALL former SAAD employees are welcome!  For further info, contact  Laurie Gibson (916)  448-0462 or Bill Harvey (916) 428-8952
